Reviews For Slam Magazine

Slam Magzine - Strictly 4 the B-ball Fanatics!

If you want a Magazine that doesn't sugarcoat nothing and Keeps it Real, then Slam Magazine is the Magazine is what you want to Read if you choose but one magazine about basketball then this magazine is by Far and away the premiere Basketball magazine out there bar none. Ala , the Cream of the Crop. This magazine doesn't have any of that stuffy analysis from college has beens that don't know a dunk from a block.

I Absolutely LUV this magainze for a Triad of Reasons :

1. Tells it Like it IS!
This magazine tells it like it is about the NBA scene, high school scene, college, etc and tells you Like it is!

2. Vast Coverage of all the Various Levels
This is one of the absolute best reasons why I enjoy this magazine. If you want to know who's blowing up the spot in the high school arena, you will find the gems here in Slam Magazine first. Ever heard of Eddy Curry, Deshawn Stevenson? These are just a few of the players that Slam Magazine chronicled long before they were household names on the B-ball scene. Even more impressive is the coverage they give to Playground legends aka The Goat, Raef Alston, "The Future" and many other players whose game could make it in the NBA Big Time and really shows this magazine is all about the Love of the Game because I guarentee you there have been guys from the street that could have made Jordan look like a Freshman bencher and where many of the "Legendary" stories have come from such as players picking quarters off the top of the backboard. They also have indepth college previews (Both Men and Women B-ball) to really add the whole spectrum from NBA to the Street. The best feature is all the attention they dedicate to High School and College Up and Comers. They have continual updates and the latest news on the ballaz you'll be seeing in the leagues in the next few years and prospective D1 colleges such as players as Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler, Dejuan Wagner, Omarre Cisse, and many others.

3. Interviews with the Stars/ Player Profiles
Enjoyable and makes this magazine well worth it! Here are just but some of the players they have profiled and or interviewsed, (Shaq, Kobe, Ray Allen, Iverson, Stromile Swift, etc) For example, It covers all areas from WNBA with interviews with stars such as Leslie Lobo, to spotlights on some hot newcomers such as Ricky Davis from the Charolette Hornets, along with hot spots on all the Illest NBA superstars such as Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Vince Carter, Allen Iverson, Gary Payton, and many of the other players blowing up the NBA spot.

This magazine is always telling it Like it is and is a Fresh Update from all those stuffy, analytical Dick Vitale magazines that litter the Magazine Rack. If you want pure Unadulterated B-Ball Truth, Seek it Here in Slam Magzine!

My Final Verdict is if you want the Hottest Bball Magazine, Pick only Slam Magazine cuz it is the the only Real Choice out there.

Keepin' it real

There must be hundreds of basketball magazines on the newsstand. Being a basketball freak, I've read most of the magazines, but none can satisfy my thirst for details like SLAM does.

The magazine features articles on high school, college and pro ballers, including women's. And even some articles on unknown ballers who's trying to make it to the League. Some of the interesting features in the magazine are NOYZ, In Your Face, Slam-a-da-Month, PUNKS and Kicks.

NOYZ runs at the bottom of a few pages and it contains funny and sarcastic remarks on what's going on in the NBA. In Your Face is a short articles featuring ballers from college or pro. Slam-ada-month is the equivalent of Playboys' centrefold. A colorful picture of a baller stuffing the ball in the rim that can make you drool. PUNKS are sections for high school ballers. Kicks is a special section for shoes or 'kicks' which features basketball sneakers and sneak peek of what's coming out at the store in the future. Of course, there are other nice stuff like free posters...

Personally, the most interesting thing about this magazine is the 'streetness' of it. It's written not in a 'formal' kind like other magazines, but with a 'hip-hop' feel to it. Which is not really appealing for those who don't understand. Reading Ben Osbourne's articles or feeling Scoop Jackson's flowin' and rhymin', it's definitely the best magazine out there. So far, no other basketball magazine comes close, but for those who loves the SLAM feel, check this magazine out - The Source Sports.

Slam is the bomb!

I buy the Slam magazine because it has everything about the NBA
in it. It also has tips on how you can improve your game. All my
favorite players are in it. The high school basketball players are in it,
men and women. This magazine has things you can buy to improve your game.
This book has statistics in it and Michael Jordan is even in it. Compared
to other magazines it is the best because it is part of what I do.

Slam is the best basketball magazine.

I love Slam and I have gotten every magazine since it has came out. I love reading about all the leaves of basketball, including the high school level. My favorite part of the magazine is either the noyz section, found in hype, or the slamadmonth. The magazine has mad game, and I don't think I could obtain all the basketball information I do, without this magazine.
This magazine has all the stuff a basketball magazine needs to be a successful mag. I can't wait for the next issue of Slam to come out, because it is all about the game. Their are no basketball magazines that he compare to this magazine. I also enjoy reading the basketball diary that is included every month by a high school baller.

Slam Dunk with Slam

I absolutely love this magazine. It is the best basketball magazine out there. One of the best qualities about SLAM is that it is good for male readers, and for female readers. SLAM regularly updates the NBA, and the WNBA, so they can attract people of both genders. I like that feature a lot. SLAM also does a great job by updating you on young high school basketball stars, and they also feature young NBA stars as well. Sometimes they will even feature a whole team at a time that is rising through the NBA quickly. SLAM also does a fabulous job high lighting college players and teams. They have great sections filled with action packed pictures, and great posters. They have cool jam pictures, and its just an all out fabulous magazine. It is much better then any other sports magazines.

SLAM tells it like it is!

This magazine is clearly targeted for young, hip hop teens. Being a tall, goofy white guy, I don't fall in that genre, but I am a basketball addict and can't get my hands off this hot mag! Everyonce in awhile, the writing can get to ghetto, but those guys are geniuses. My favorite sections are the letters to the editor and the new shoes section. Some of those letters are flat-out dope, while others are really dumb, which makes me wonder how they got in there. SLAM respects the game, and takes the time to sit down with atheletes to break down their lives. Only two complaints. ONe is the ads, but you gotta have those, so......another is, what kid has 27 pairs of basketball shoes? That section where kids talk about their shoes is kinda dumb, I think. Shoes are cool, but abuot 3,4 pairs are enough. I'm out like Bill Walton should have been a LONG time ago!

SLAM DUNK! Slam hooks up the real 411

SLAM is an in your face, double pumping, no look slam dunk of a basketball magazine. It doesn't ride on just certain player's coat-tails but rather gives props to those who deserve it. SLAM isn't all about providing numbers and stats like other magazines, it highlights the spectacular in the NBA regardless of whether you are a veteran or a rookie who just made the highlight reel on Sportscenter. Highschool and college ballers along with NBA stars are featured. The writing is raw and real. The magazine truly captures the young basketball culture. There are sections for sweetest dunks and even new shoes. It is the only magazine out there that understands what a true baller is about. From the kicks to the lingo, SLAm is right on the money.

Slam the illist magazine ever

I buy almost every issue I can of the magazine SLAM because every issue I pick up guarantees good reading material for days if not weeks. The innovative way in which they interview people makes the magazine not only fun to read but also provides hidden insight into the game of basketball.

Reading SLAM provides me with a way to read about basketball in a way that most suits me. No stuffy articles written by old men, it tells about basketball the way it is and also the way it should be. It represents for the sport of basketball in picture and text form.

The main reason I read this magazine is because it speaks to me in a way I understand. The "slang" or "lingo" is stuff me and and my friends converse with every day.

SLAM, THE BEST B-BALL MAG EVER!!!

SLAM is the best basketball magazine I have ever seen. I have been ordering it since it first came out several years ago. What I like most about this magazine is that the writers will tell something like it is, they would say that a player stinks if that is how they feel. I also like this magazine because it is the only basketball magazine I know that gives you information on players at every level, high school, college, and the pros. They also have articles on rising stars from around the world. Included in every issue is a poster, as well, which looks really good in any room. Any basketball enthusiast would love reading this magazine, I have introduced it to many, and all have enjoyed it dearly. If you are looking for a good basketball magazine to buy, then look no further, SLAM is the very best.
