I love this magazine

When I became a mom for the first time, my mother subscribed me to Parents. I would have to say that as a mom for the third time I am still a devoted reader. Parents has everything that you would need to know on baby care and children up to the teen years. I have gone so far as to keep some of my favorite issues in a box for future reading. They offer up to date information on health, safety, and family issues. The articles are informative and helpful for the new mom to even the most seasoned mother. I would recommend this magazine to anyone who is looking for the perfect gift for a first time mom or to someone who enjoys reading about the growth and development of families as a whole. Even though, I no longer subscribe to the magazine it is always on my list when I approach the check out line.

No parent or child care worker should be without it.

I highly recommend Parents Magazine. I have read several other magazines based on children but have found this magazine to be the most informative. Parents magazine has sections on every topic that a mother, father or child care worker would need. I especially find the recall section of the magazine informative. It has already helped my to find out that two items that I have had been recalled. This is something that is very important to me. These are things that we need to know and also the people we hire to take care of our children. This is a great magazine to give to a Nanny or Babysitter that comes into your home. It will keep them very informed on the latest child development and you can feel better about having your children in the care of these child care providers.

Pick of the litter

Through my pregnancy, and as a new parent, I consistently held subscriptions to three magazines - Parents, Parenting, and Child. Now that my son is two, the only subscription I have kept is Parents. I think it is the best value for the money. Parenting often has extremely long articles on health and discipline, and not too much fun - like things I can do with my son. Child on the other hand was all fun stuff, and very little that I needed to know with regard to new health discoveries, and education. Parents has the best mixture of both, while including other helpful information such as product recalls, and sections where parents give advice on the best ways to handle everyday situations. Parents always spend so much money in the care of their children, so when it comes to magazines, having three subscriptions to obtain all the best and current information is far too much money to spend. Parents has it all. I whole-heartedly recommend that any parent get a subscription for at least one year.

Handy info for new parents

My Mom and Dad sent this subscription to us as a gift when our first child was born in January of 1999. I must say that I read it cover to cover every month (I make time for it while eating breakfast). I have also had a subscription to Baby but that is mainly for newborns where as Parents is for parents of all ages-20, 30, 40...
I like the sections that relate to the children's ages (As They Grow-pregnancy and birth, 6-12 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 & 4, 5 & 6, 7-10 and 11-13 years) and what they are doing. This way I can get an idea of what I should expect from my child as well as my girl friend's children for when I baby-sit not to mention craft ideas.
It has a Milestones section where you can send in your favorite photos for others to see and share. Parents also always has a pullout emergency guide every month. I have had stuff from spider bites to cpr to accidents at home (this month-December 2000).
Basically what I am trying to say is that I always find something useful in the magazine. Whether it is how to get ready to potty train or a new cookie recipe.
My favorite articles are on discipline. Parents helps you to learn other ways to do it without spanking or yelling. No one really wants to yell at their children so it helps to know that you are not alone when you have lost your cool.
I don't know of any other parents magazine that covers so many valuable topics every month. Oh, and yes, my Parents sent us another subscription to Parents!!

Excellent mag, love it!

Parents magazine is wonderful! I have been getting a subscription for about seven years now, since my oldest son was born. It's informative on all topics from pregnancy, newborns, toddlers, preschoolers and older. They have great advice and comments. Even the recipes are awesome!!

I just had my third baby in January and I keep going back to re-read my old magazines and articles. They have been such a big help. When I have a half hour to myself at the end of the day, I just want to pick up my latest edition of Parents. I can't wait to find it in my mailbox every month! It's a definate keeper!

A Treat for New Moms

I love this magazine. I read it from time to time and I love every aspect of it! It's a great magazine for mothers to be or young parents. It deals with parenting issues, holidays, how to's, family relationships, advice from other parents, and much more! I love the covers too! They always have extremely cute and adorable babies on the cover! I also love the crafts and ideas and tips for doing hairstyles for the mom and child. They sometimes have cut outs for the holidays and ways to enhance them. It's the best gift for a new mother, in my opinion.

Parental Guidance

There are so many magazines out there for parents, how DO you pick one that is worth subscribing to? Don't ask me, I think I get them all!! I love PARENTS magazine though because they always have good, detailed, informative articles that can genuinely help you.

I remember when my toddler was not sleeping well and PARENTS had an article dealing with various methods of encouraging sleep for toddlers. I think that article helped our household to regain our sanity for two reasons: 1. we realized we were not alone 2. our toddler started sleeping again!

They run age specific articles so you can get a sense for whether your infant, toddler, young child, young teen is developing more or less along average lines. They give suggestions for when you might want to consult a professional.

The magazine often offers advice on various products to make life with babies or toddlers, etc. easier for parent and child. I admit, I have gone out and purchased some of the products based on what I have read in the magazine.

In summary, this magazine is a good value for parents who are interested n their role(s) as parents!

Parents has it all

After my second child was born, I started subscribing to Parents magazine because I found myself always buying this magazine off the newsstand. Parents magazine is a very informative magazine for people with children or expectant parents providing you with articles on behavior, family, and health issues. In every issue is a helpful As They Grow guide to help you follow your child's development. Parents provide creative crafts for you and your children to do along with tasty recipes for you to try. I especially enjoyed the December 1999 issue with all the pictures of readers children dressed as adorable angels for Christmas, this gave me the idea to do the same with my children. Great magazine overall.

I love this magazine!

I started getting this magazine as hand-me-downs when I was pregnant from a dentist I worked part time for. I liked it then when I was pregnant so decided to subscribe.

This magazine has so many helpful articles on things from fussy newborns to hard-to-handle-teens. Though I am only to the toddler level with my child, there is lots on those too. I learn different techniques for disciplining her and things that are hard to get advice on really.

Another thing I really like about this magazine is how it offers different activities to try with your child from going outside and playing to making things (including food and material things) with them. It has great, easy, and fun ideas for young children.

I tell all of my friends, pregnant or already moms, to get this magazine and how much they will thank me later!!
