Reviews For Arthur Frommers Budget Travel Magazine

not for me

I am not sure what I expected but Budget Travel did not do anything for me. My wife and I are in our 30s and have a desire to see the United States and the rest of the world. I was hoping for reviews of resorts and cruise lines and fun trips that were planned out for us. Most of the places reviewed did not interest us and seemed to be geared towards older couples who had time to take weeks off for a vacation. By the end of the year it seemed like the magazine was becoming very predictible.

I did enjoy the tips from other travelers and the prices on the cheapest vacations were nice to browse. My suggestion is to make the magazine more hip or at least have a section on travel for the younger crowd.

Gone down hill fast

This used to be one of the best travel magazines out there. Now they have changed the format a bit. They seem to have different staff, focus, and no new info.

They have been re-hashing old deals, not focusing on the truly good deals anymore. The magazine used to point you to the best possible deals out there, now they only seem to point to deals from people who advertise in the magazine. I can find better deals in 2 minutes of web surfing. The travel reviews have gone from truly insightful accounts to veiled infomercials for a destination. If you want to find the truly best deal this magazine is no longer a source.

It's sad to see a once great magazine go so far down hill.

Wrong Address

Purchased as a gift subscription to a friend, but order got mixed up and the magazines came to my home - ARGH!
